18650BatteryStore.com Return Policy

Returns & Final Sale Policy

All sales are final. Due to the safety-sensitive nature of lithium-ion batteries, LiFePO4 batteries, chargers, pack-building supplies, and related electrical components, 18650BatteryStore.com does not accept general returns, exchanges, or refunds after purchase.

Please contact us before placing your order if you have any questions about compatibility, cell chemistry, voltage, discharge rating, charger requirements, protected versus unprotected cells, flat-top versus button-top cells, or product selection. We are sincere about helping you choose the correct product before you buy.

Last updated: June 26, 2026
Important: Once batteries leave our chain of custody, we cannot verify whether a cell has been charged, discharged, shorted, over-discharged, modified, spot-welded, soldered, installed, exposed to heat or moisture, or otherwise used outside of manufacturer specifications. For safety, quality-control, and transportation-compliance reasons, all purchases are final except for the limited damaged-in-transit or verified dead-on-arrival review process described below.

Policy Summary

This summary is provided for convenience. Please read the full policy below before completing your purchase.

Pre-Purchase Support

Ask Before Ordering

Lithium batteries are technical products. If you are unsure which battery, charger, wrap, case, BMS, or pack-building supply is appropriate for your application, contact our team before purchasing.

1. Scope of This Return Policy

This Returns & Final Sale Policy applies to purchases made through 18650BatteryStore.com and is intended to work together with our Terms of Service, Shipping Policy, product safety warnings, manufacturer specifications, and any written instructions provided by our customer support team.

By placing an order, you acknowledge that lithium batteries and related electrical products must be selected, stored, transported, charged, discharged, assembled, and used only in accordance with applicable laws, manufacturer specifications, industry safety practices, and the requirements of your device or system.

2. All Sales Are Final

All sales are final. We do not offer refunds or exchanges on any product because we cannot verify the post-delivery condition, handling history, or electrical history of batteries and related components once they leave our facility.

Examples of non-returnable situations include, without limitation:

  • Ordering the wrong size, chemistry, terminal type, top style, capacity, or discharge rating.
  • Purchasing a cell or battery that is not compatible with your device, charger, BMS, inverter, motor controller, flashlight, vaporizer, power tool, pack design, RV, marine system, solar system, or other application.
  • Buyer’s remorse, duplicate orders, project cancellation, no longer needing the item, or finding a different product after purchase.
  • Products that have been opened, installed, charged, discharged, cycled, spot-welded, soldered, shrink-wrapped, rewrapped, altered, tested under load, connected to a pack, or otherwise used.
  • Products damaged by improper charging, over-discharge, reverse polarity, short circuit, excessive current draw, incorrect BMS configuration, water exposure, heat exposure, physical impact, or use outside manufacturer specifications.
  • Wholesale, commercial, special-order, bulk, pallet, or B2B purchases unless a separate written agreement signed by an authorized representative of 18650BatteryStore.com states otherwise.

3. Pre-Purchase Technical Responsibility

We want every customer to receive the correct product the first time. Before purchasing, please confirm all technical requirements for your application. This is especially important for bare lithium-ion cells, protected versus unprotected cells, high-drain cells, LiFePO4 batteries, battery chargers, pack-building materials, and OEM or DIY battery projects.

Technical Detail What to Confirm Before Buying Why It Matters
Cell Size 18650, 21700, 26650, 14500, 18350, 18500, LiFePO4 format, or other size. Incorrect size can prevent installation or create unsafe mechanical fitment.
Top Style Flat top, button top, protected button top, or device-specific terminal style. Some devices only work with one top style or length.
Chemistry & Voltage Lithium-ion, LiFePO4, nominal voltage, charge voltage, and pack configuration. Using the wrong chemistry or voltage can damage equipment and create a safety hazard.
Discharge Rating Continuous discharge rating, pulse load, motor/inverter surge demand, and heat limits. Underrated cells may overheat, vent, fail prematurely, or create a fire risk.
Charging Requirements Correct charger type, charging voltage, charging current, and low-temperature limits. Improper charging can permanently damage batteries and may create hazardous conditions.
Pack Building BMS compatibility, cell matching, nickel strip sizing, insulation, fusing, and enclosure design. Pack construction requires technical expertise and is the customer’s responsibility.

4. Damaged in Transit

If your package or product appears damaged during shipping, contact us immediately. Please retain the shipping box, product packaging, labels, packing materials, and all contents until our team completes its review.

To help us review a damaged-in-transit claim, please provide:

  • Your order number and the email address used at checkout.
  • Clear photos of the outside shipping box, shipping label, interior packing materials, and affected product.
  • Video, when helpful, showing the condition of the product and packaging.
  • A brief description of the damage and whether the package appeared damaged when delivered.

Do not discard the product or packaging until we provide written instructions. We will review each case individually and determine the appropriate resolution based on the facts, carrier requirements, product condition, and applicable safety considerations.

5. Defective Cells or Batteries Dead on Arrival

If you receive a battery that is dead on arrival, meaning it is completely dead and will not accept a charge when handled safely with the correct charger and within manufacturer specifications, contact us within 5 days of accepted delivery.

DOA claims are limited to new and unused products and are subject to verification. To be eligible for review:

  • The product must have originated from our warehouse, and batch or serial numbers may be verified.
  • The product must be new, unused, uninstalled, unmodified, and free from signs of charging, discharging, welding, soldering, shorting, abuse, misuse, heat damage, liquid exposure, impact damage, or other post-delivery damage.
  • All original packaging, labels, accessories, and documentation must be included when requested.
  • You must contact us within 5 days of accepted delivery and follow our written instructions before shipping or returning any item.

After the 5-day DOA review window has passed, the DOA guarantee expires and DOA returns will not be accepted.

6. Required RMA Authorization Before Any Return Shipment

Do not send any product back to us unless our customer support team has issued written return authorization and shipping instructions. Lithium batteries are regulated products, and improper return shipping can be unsafe or non-compliant.

Contact Support

Email support@18650batterystore.com, call 1-800-547-3050, or use the contact button on the website. Include your order number and a clear description of the issue.

Provide Evidence

Send photos or video of the product, packaging, shipping label, batch or serial markings, charger reading, and any other information requested by our team.

Wait for Instructions

If your claim is eligible for review, our team may issue an RMA and specific shipping, packaging, handling, or disposal instructions. Unauthorized returns may be refused, rejected, or handled according to safety requirements.

Testing and Resolution

When a return is authorized and received, we may inspect and test the product. If the item is confirmed to be eligible under this policy, we may provide a replacement or another appropriate resolution at our discretion.

7. Unsafe, Swollen, Hot, Leaking, or Damaged Batteries

Do not mail, ship, or transport a battery that is swollen, hot, smoking, leaking, punctured, crushed, corroded, venting gas, producing odor, or showing signs of thermal damage unless you have received proper instructions from qualified personnel and the shipment is permitted under applicable regulations.

If a battery appears unsafe, stop using it immediately. Move it away from flammable materials if it is safe to do so, place it in a fire-resistant or non-conductive area, and contact us for guidance. Depending on the condition of the product, you may also need to contact your local hazardous waste facility or local fire department non-emergency line for disposal instructions.

For general consumer recycling and disposal guidance, please review our Dispose and Recycle 18650 Batteries page.

8. Refunds, Replacements, and Credits

Because all sales are final, refunds, replacements, exchanges, or store credits are not available for general returns. In the limited case of a verified damaged-in-transit or DOA claim, the available resolution will be determined by 18650BatteryStore.com based on the condition of the item, test results, carrier requirements, inventory availability, manufacturer requirements, and applicable law.

We reserve the right to deny any claim that does not meet this policy, is submitted outside the applicable review period, lacks requested documentation, involves a used or modified product, or presents evidence of misuse, improper charging, improper installation, improper pack construction, unsafe handling, or use outside manufacturer specifications.

9. Order Changes and Cancellations

Please review your order carefully before completing checkout. If you need to request a change or cancellation, contact us immediately. We will make a reasonable effort to assist before fulfillment begins, but orders may be processed quickly and we cannot guarantee that an order can be changed or cancelled after it is placed.

Once an order has been processed, packed, shipped, or otherwise entered fulfillment, the sale is final and the order is subject to this policy.

10. Commercial, Wholesale, and Pack-Building Purchases

Commercial buyers, resellers, OEMs, repair shops, vape shops, battery pack builders, installers, and wholesale customers are responsible for confirming technical suitability, compliance requirements, and intended use before purchase. Unless a separate written agreement signed by an authorized representative of 18650BatteryStore.com states otherwise, commercial, wholesale, bulk, pallet, and special-order purchases are final sale.

Need Help Choosing the Correct Product?

We would rather answer your technical questions before you purchase than have you end up with a product that does not fit your device, charger, pack design, or electrical system. Please contact our team with your device model, required cell size, voltage, discharge requirement, top style, charger model, and any relevant project details.

Frequently Asked Questions
